Welcome to WAIBTS

A 501(c)(3) Not-for-Profit, Built on Government Partnership

Washington State IBTS (WAIBTS) is a division of the Institute for Building Technology and Safety (IBTS), a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization dedicated to promoting residential and commercial building safety and building code compliance across the United States.

WAIBTS was formed to serve the specific needs of the northwestern United States, providing services on demand which would normally be provided by government offices in the built environment. WAIBTS can be leveraged to augment Washington's existing resources in the following areas, on an as-needed basis:

IBTS Organization

IBTS's work is guided by a Board of Directors made up of representatives of the National League of Cities, National Association of Counties, International City/County Management Association, National Governors Association Center for Best Practices, and Council of State Governments.

Contract and Grant Vehicles

Federal agencies can obtain IBTS's services with minimum paperwork using General Services Administration (GSA) schedules. State and local government can also obtain IBTS's information systems, services, and/or support through a cooperative agreement using GSA Schedule 70. As a public service organization, we are able to offer services to the government without going through a competitive procurement process.

Partners in Service

IBTS has a proven record of consistently providing quality services on a local, state and national basis.
